5/15/09 - Banner resolved to Zephron's Animated banner creation.

You know Jack, the animated banner might not be a good idea. I have a pretty fast internet connection and it's still slowing me down a lot. I like the idea, but it's very annoying. No offense meant, Zeph. Maybe just a collage of our textures would be better?

? It always runs fine for me. Wasn't the site slow for you before the banner was put up?

Edit: Eww GIF file type. And it appears to be pausing. Did you do that Jack?

If you want a collage I suppose I could do that as well.

BTW No offense taken. Do you guys like how it looks, besides the animation?

Oh, actually, it's working fairly well now. Turns out I had a virus scan running without knowing it. It still makes my typing lag a bit though. And it might hurt people with slower computers.

Yeah, I stopped it on each animation for 5 seconds so it was more, erm, like a collage I guess. The quality could easily have been higher, but at a huge cost in size. It's currently about 6mb in size (64 colors). 256 colors was default at 13mb for animation. Obviously decided against that.

Aww, I wish it could've been higher anyway. Maybe do a compromise of like 125 or whatever that one option is?

Though, with the 5 seconds added the cat looks funky. Lol. In fact he's kinda hard to make out .__.
Ah well.

I also noticed the tiny white corners of the image. Make them black. It annoys me :@

I see we went back to the simpler banner, it's a bit of a pity but I think it works better. It's more quite and reserved anyhow, less attention-hogging. I did like your banner tho, Zeph.

...there's always the PNG file option without the animation, and simply have the sky as a collage.

..just a thought
