Recently, there's been a rumor that Wii owners with HBC installed will be banned from wi-fi if they attempt to use wi-fi, regardless of whether their hacking at the moment. Please tell me if you think this is true or false. Definitive proof would be playing on Brawl wi-fi in July 2009 or after.

Where'd you hear this BS from? My friend was going to get HBC, but he saw an article of GoNintendo that talked about this rumor, so I'm trying to find proof (which I did, here) that it's bull honkey! I guess this means I have a hacking-buddy now!

I think this is only when you use the Hacks online.
Like it was obvious to Nintendo that you were cheating. For example, controlling 2 characters on Vs Anyone. All your vs anyone matches are recorded by Nintendo so they can look at all of them.
Though they can't see your Wifi Friends matches, so you can still hack there.
This Wifi ban was mostly for MKWii Cheating.

Well what I meant by that was I used a Wavebird so it was obvious to the opponent that I was controlling two characters. Nintendo probably wouldn't know if you were playing with a friend.

Fantastical! The rumor has been put to rest by a wooden stake to the butt! That wavebird stuff looks fun, but I use wiimote + nunchucknorris. I suppose that's what codes are for anyways. I hate the idea of hackers going on With Anyone and using the Superman code or something, but just plain fun stuff is fine with me. I wonder, if you had the superman code on for P4 and went on With Anyone, would that actually effect the other player?

Only things like the Multliplayer Vs Anyone mode work because they don't change the game play. You can't even use the Music Swap code online because the game freezes when it has to load two different songs.
