Looking to avoid noob mistakes

Hi, I'm Masami Phoenix.

Rather than annoy everybody by posting for help in the wrong places, I thought I'd start here and hopefully either get the help or get directed to the proper place to put the thread.

I got directed here from a download of all the character models from SSBB (in DAE) format. So I think I'm in the right place for that.

My basic concern is that when I try to install them into 3D Studio Max 9, it acts like they're being loaded properly, but then I don't get anything visually on the screen.

I'm an animator and I have some really great idaes but I suck at modelling and I'd love to get a hand on those models.

Any help is appreaciated.

Sweet, an animator. Your questions should be posted in the Texture Discussion board if they're related to textures (or models). You should make a topic about it, but I can try to offer a little support: #1 Have you installed the plugin that allows 3ds Max to read the model files. #2 Are you choosing to open or import the files? You need to import them.

It's nice to find a website with helpful people, instead of most forums I've tried which are either dead or full of unhelp.

gazoinks: 9 comes with that plugin standard, and I'm definitely importing, not opening.
