Zelda Classic

Anyone ever heard of Zelda Classic? It's a very cool program that allows you to create classic-style Zelda games with custom graphics, items, and more. In the newer version you can make side-scrolling platformers as well, but I haven't really tried it. More info can be found here, but download it here, the download on the website is very outdated. Finally, a huge selection of tiles and games can be found here.

Added screens as well as a sentence saying that it's possible to make side-scrolling games in the newer betas.

Hmm, interesting. Not sure I'd go head-first into wasting time with it, but I gotta admit, looks nice.

It looks like a dumbed down version of RPG Maker 2K

I wouldn't say dumbed down since this is built specifically for Zelda games, RPG Maker isn't. And you can script with this.
