Inspired by lugi's post, I decided to create this guide on how to texture N64 ROMs.



How To Texture Hack N64 ROMs

• Project 64 (N64 Emulator)
  
• A ROM
  
• Some photo-editing software
  

Step 1: Download the Rice Video Plugin and BMGlib.

Step 2: Put BMGlib in the same folder as your emulator and put the Rice Plugin in your emulator's plugin folder.

Step 3: Go into your plugin folder and create a folder named "Texture_dump" and "hires_textures".

Step 4: Open Project 64 and change the video plugin to the Rice Plugin.

Step 5: Go to graphics settings>texture filters and click dump textures to files. It is recommended to do this when you're in the area that you want to dump textures from. Each area that you go to when dump textures is selected will have the textures extracted from it.

Step 6: Open up the texture dump folder and you'll see a folder with a name corresponding to the game you dumped. Inside this are a bunch of folders containing your dumped textures.

Step 7: Edit whatever textures you wish.

Step 8: Copy the edited textures into the hires_textures folder. Make sure to put it into a folder that is named the same as the folder containing your game's textures in texture_dump. (i.e. Make a folder called SMASH BROS for Smash Bros.).

Step 9: Go to graphics settings>texture filters, uncheck dump textures to files and check load hi-res textures if available.

Step 10: Enjoy your super-awesome new textures!

Actually, my thing can be done with most games! And some Gamecube/Wii Games! And Rice Video plugin just adds to the Awesomeness. But its a shame you cant make it permanent.

Well technically I took the textures from Brawl Link and pasted them onto the textures on OoT Link.
